Value for client

Transformed K-Fleet's desktop-only tools into mobile applications, giving crews access to logbooks, maintenance schedules, and voyage reports from onboard.

  1. Designed touch-friendly interactions and gestures for on-deck use.

    Gloves
"Enlarged touch targets and increased spacing between controls so crews wearing work gloves could operate the app reliably."

    Sunlight/glare
"Increased contrast and simplified the color palette so screens stayed legible in direct sunlight on deck."

    Motion/vibration
"Designed larger tap zones and reduced reliance on precise gestures to account for a ship's constant motion and vibration."

    Wet or salt-exposed screens
"Avoided swipe-heavy interactions in favor of simple taps, since wet or salt-covered screens made fine gestures unreliable."

    One-handed use
"Moved primary actions within thumb's reach for one-handed use, since crews often had one hand occupied with equipment."

    Intermittent connectivity
"Designed for offline-first use with local caching, since connectivity on board was often unreliable."

  2. Refreshed the visual design to bring the interface in line with modern mobile conventions, replacing the dated desktop look.

  3. Worked closely with the development team to solve technical constraints during the transition, keeping the desktop-to-mobile shift on track.
